There are five reasons for the fracture of bearing cage
Generally speaking, the cage of bearing will not be damaged under reasonable working conditions, but the wrong operation in daily production will reduce the service life of bearing cage. Let's take a look at the causes of fracture of bearing cage.
1. Poor lubrication of bearings
When the bearing is running in a lean state, it is easy to form adhesive wear, which worsens the working surface state. The tear produced by adhesive wear is easy to enter the cage, which causes abnormal load on the cage and may cause fracture of the cage.
2. Bearing creep phenomenon
Creep mostly refers to the sliding phenomenon of the ring. When the interference of the mating surface is insufficient, the load point moves to the surrounding direction due to the sliding, resulting in the deviation of the ring relative to the axis or shell in the circumferential direction.
3. Abnormal load of bearing cage
It is easy to reduce the clearance, increase the friction heat generation, soften the surface, and cause abnormal spalling too early. With the expansion of spalling, the spalling foreign matters enter the cage pocket, resulting in the cage operation block and additional load, which aggravates the wear of the cage. Such deterioration of the cycle effect may cause the cage fracture. In the case of insufficient interference on the mating surface, the sliding of the variable multi finger ring causes the load point to move to the surrounding direction, resulting in the deviation of the ring from the axis or the shell to the circumferential direction.
4. Material defect of bearing cage
Cracks, large non-metallic inclusions, shrinkage cavity, bubble and riveting defects, lack of rivets, spacer or gap between two half cages, serious riveting damage, etc. may cause cage fracture.
5. Invasion of hard foreign matter in bearing
The invasion of foreign hard foreign bodies or other impurities aggravates the wear of cage.
