What is the common installation method of bearing with broken outer ring?

2021-09-24

The outer ring is broken and the Thin-walled bearing has a special structure. In the process of use, it is necessary to ensure the integrity of the bearing structure. There are many difficulties in the production of parts such as ferrule, cage and snap ring.
According to the structural characteristics of the thin-walled outer ring after fracture, the broken outer ring is slowly expanded with a taper guide block within its strength range to meet the needs of installing other parts; Then install the remaining parts into the steel ball tray according to the bearing assembly method, and put the tray into the groove of the taper guide block; Finally, the bearing assembly is completed by applying axial force to the inner ring through the press fitting block, as shown in the following figure:
Assembly steps:
1. Put the inner ring and cage into the tray according to the specified sequence;
2. Put the steel ball into the cage pocket one by one and support it with a tray to ensure that the steel ball does not fall off;
3. Slowly press the taper guide block into the inner hole of the broken outer ring to expand it, and make the cylindrical part of the upper end face of the taper guide block flush with the upper section of the broken outer ring;
4. Adjust the position of the taper guide block and the broken outer ring so that the outer ring is in good contact with the upper section of the support ring;
5. Put the small cylindrical part at the lower end of the tray with the bearing assembly into the groove above the taper guide block and make it contact well;
6. Install the small cylindrical part of the press mounting block into the inner hole of the inner ring;
7. Apply axial force to the press fitting block to press the inner ring, cage and steel ball into the broken outer ring to complete the assembly of thin-walled broken bearing.
