How to better install linear bearing

Different from other types of bearings, linear bearing is a linear motion system produced at low cost, which is used for infinite stroke and cylindrical shaft. Because the bearing ball is in point contact with the shaft, the service load is small. The steel ball rotates with minimal friction resistance, so as to obtain high-precision and stable motion.
Linear bearings are widely used in precision equipment such as electronic equipment, tensile testing machines and digital three-dimensional coordinate measuring equipment, as well as sliding parts of industrial machinery such as multi axis machine tools, punches, tool grinders, automatic gas cutting machines, printers, card sorting machines, food packaging machines and so on.
Linear bearing has the characteristics of lightweight, corrosion resistance, interchangeability and low cost. When applied to various machine equipment, it can give full play to the maximum performance and achieve the maximum economic benefits of labor-saving and automation. Compared with various types of slide rails, its cost is relatively low and has price competitive advantages. The installation method of linear bearing is:
1. When the linear bearing is pressed into the bearing seat, do not directly hit the retaining ring and oil seal at the side of the outer cylinder, and drive it evenly with special tools.
2. When the linear bearing is installed on the shaft, as shown in the figure on the right, pay attention to whether the axis is parallel to the inner hole of the linear bearing. Remember not to install it at an improper angle, which will affect the walking accuracy and service life of the linear bearing.
When installing linear bearing, the verticality of shaft ring and shaft centerline shall be inspected. The method is to fix the dial indicator on the end face of the box shell, make the contact of the dial indicator push on the raceway of the shaft ring of the linear bearing, rotate the linear bearing, and observe the pointer of the dial indicator. If the pointer swings, it indicates that the shaft ring is not perpendicular to the shaft centerline. When the shell hole is deep, it can also be inspected with an extended dial indicator. When the linear bearing is installed correctly, its seat ring can automatically adapt to the rolling of the rolling element to ensure that the rolling element is located in the raceway of the upper and lower rings. If it is installed reversely, not only the linear bearing does not work normally, but also the mating surfaces will be seriously worn.
