Maintenance requirements for keeping bearings clean
Due to the relative movement of the rolling element and raceway and the invasion of pollutants and dust, the surface of the rolling element and raceway is worn. When the amount of wear is large, the bearing, noise and vibration increase, which reduces the operation accuracy of the bearing, thus directly affects the accuracy of some main engines. Therefore, for some bearings used in silent machinery, daily maintenance is mainly to prevent the invasion of pollutants and dust.
1. Influence on bearing life
The cleanliness of bearings has a great influence on the service life of needle roller bearings. Special tests have been carried out on bearings, and the results show that the difference is several times or even tens of times. The higher the cleanliness of the bearing, the longer the life of the bearing. Therefore, improving the cleanliness of the lubricating oil can prolong the service life of the bearing. In addition, if the dirt particles in the lubricating oil are controlled below 10um, the service life of the bearing will increase several times.
2. Influence on vibration and noise
The test results of the bearing test center show that the cleanliness seriously affects the vibration level of the bearing, especially in the high frequency band. The vibration velocity of the bearing with high cleanliness is low, especially in the high frequency band. The influence of the dust in the grease of needle roller bearing on the noise has been tested. It is proved that the more the dust, the greater the noise.
3. The influence on lubrication performance and the decline of bearing cleanliness not only affect the formation of lubricating oil film, but also cause the deterioration and accelerated aging of grease, thus affecting the lubrication performance of grease.
